But, is the platform the right fit for your business?
This Omnisend review takes a detailed look at its features, its pros and cons, and answers some FAQs.

    What is Omnisend?

Omnisend is an omnichannel marketing automation platform that launched back in 2014 under the name Soundest. The company primarily offered email marketing services and managed to build a base of over 70,000.

Omnisend is now an industry leader in marketing automation, lead generation, and omnichannel marketing. Many online Omnisend reviews claimed that its centralised marketing flow features have immensely helped increase productivity.

    Omnisend Pricing and Plans

Omnisend offers a free version and two paid versions, both of which are customisable. The Pro plan is more suitable for businesses that need higher SMS credits and a dedicated support manager for their account.

Compared to its main competitors, Omnisend is a mid-range email marketing software. It is priced slightly higher than MailerLite and Moosend, two options on the lower end of the spectrum.

It also only includes unlimited emails in the pricer Pro Plan. If no restrictions on the number of newsletters is a must for you, take a look at GetResponse which incorporates this feature in its free plan.

    Omnisend Features

    Email campaigns

Creating an email campaign with Omnisend is fast, simple, and requires zero coding or designing skills

The platform has a library of free email and newsletter templates, which users can edit to fit their branding or use Omnisend’s drag-and-drop Editor to add discount codes, scratch cards, and product recommendations.

That said, unlike some of its competitors, Omnisend does not have template themes for holiday marketing, like Christmas or Easter sales. You could always customise another template, but it would be nice if the platform would take some of the work off your hands.

    Personalisation and Segmentation

Since Omnisend focuses on eCommerce, it makes an extra effort to make sure its users have the necessary data to improve their campaigns.

This includes the ability to filter customers based on email campaign activity, shopping behaviour, average order value, the type of items they’re buying, and more. Still, one of its best features is customer lifecycle-based segmentation

Essentially, the platform shows users a map of the entire lifecycle of a customer to help businesses better understand their needs and set specific actions based on previous behaviour such as spending and shopping frequency.

    eCommerce Automation

Unlike other marketing automation tools, like Moosend and GetResponse, Omnisend offers both email and SMS marketing automation

What’s more, Omnisend’s automation feature comes with pre-built messages, subject lines and workflow settings, which users can always customise in the platform’s Editor.

For example, users can set up Omnisend transactional emails, schedule welcome, thank you, and birthday messages, as well as reminders for sales and other behaviour, such as leaving items in the shopping cart.

    A/B Testing

Omnisend users have the option to test different email campaigns through its A/B testing feature which comes with a step-by-step guide. They can then use this information to improve workflows.

    Omnisend Push Notifications

Omnisend allows users to add push notifications to email and SMS automated workflows, including notifications for cart abandonment, browse abandonment, and transactional messages.

They can also create push notifications campaigns to promote products and services.

    Product Picker

With the product picker tool, businesses can add products from their online stores directly to their email campaigns. Omnisend will automatically include the product’s description, image, price, and the link to the page.

    Omnisend Reports

Omnisidend provides revenue and engagement reports on all campaigns to give a full picture of what’s working and what needs improvement. What’s more, the platform presents all the metrics in one place and makes it easy for users to compare the data.

The most convenient part about its report feature is that Omnisend produces and shows data in the Automation Editor to help users make data-based decisions without having to go back and forth.

    Popups & Forms

The platform has pre-built customisable forms for creating signup boxes, landing pages, wheel of fortune-style forms, and simple popups. Users can also implement exit popups to reduce the bounce rate and checkout abandonment and are a great way to boost your SMS list.

    Omnisend Integration

Omnisend integrates with a variety of apps, ranging from eCommerce platforms and CRMS to payments and customer support, including Facebook Custom Audience and Auto-Post Campaigns, WooCommerce, Shopify, Zapier, Easyship, and others.

    Customer Support

Omnisend has 24/7 email and chat support (Facebook Messenger). If you’re on one of the paid plans, you could also reach out to a customer support representative via the in-app chat.

Like Moosend, Omnisend doesn’t have phone support. If you’re looking for a platform that provides customer support via phone, you can check out some Omnisend alternatives like AWeber.

    Bottom Line

Omnisend is an excellent platform for businesses that want to take advantage of omnichannel marketing. It has a plethora of features, including SMS and email marketing, automation, integrations, and most importantly, there is an Omnisend free plan for those that are just starting out.

Note that Sendinblue offers similar features, but unlike Omnisend, tends to cater to medium-sized companies and large corporations. So, if you have a bigger organisation, this is an option worth looking into. Another downside to Omnisend is low deliverability rates. In the latest testing, the company was ranked among the lower performing solutions, making platforms like ActiveCampiagn and ConvertKit a more suitable choice.

    Is Omnisend easy to use?

Yes, it is. Omnisend has a beginner-friendly interface. It presents information in a comprehensive way and makes it easy to toggle between tabs,  customise, and set up campaigns and automation workflows.

    How do you integrate Omnisend?

You can find apps that integrate with Omnisend on its website, including via your account.

    Is Omnisend a CRM?

Not primarily, but it has a CRM solution. Based on our Omnisend review, the platform collects various data on users’ customers which they can leverage to improve campaigns and boost sales.
