Is Alibi on Freeview?

Fans of crime TV dramas, like ‘Murdoch Mysteries’ and ‘Death in Paradise’ cannot watch their favourite shows on Alibi on Freeview.

But, there is a way to watch the channel on TV for free– with an existing NOW subscription.

In this article, we’ll explain what Alibi offers, why there is no Alibi channel on Freeview, and where you can find the channel.

What Is Alibi?

Alibi TV  is one of the most popular British pay TV channels where you can binge-watch some of the best nail-biting crime TV dramas and thrillers.

The channel, which is owned by BBC Studios – whose parent company is UKTV– has had several name changes since its launch in 1997.

It was originally called Arena and focused on arts programming, but it was eventually renamed UKTV Drama as the channel’s programming was expanded to include drama shows.

The Alibi channel is best known for its addictive crime-drama shows.

In 2022, these include:

Depending on your provider, you can find Alibi TV on the following channels:

  • 132– Sky
  • 126– Virgin Media
  • 312– BT

How To Watch Alibi For Free

Although you cannot watch the Alibi channel on Freeview (at least not yet), you can watch the popular crime shows on Alibi for free on NOW with an Entertainment Membership.

The Internet TV provider, which is operated by Sky, added the channel to the NOW Entertainment Membership at no extra cost and anyone that’s subscribed can find it in the channel list on the NOW app.

Since there is no Freeview Alibi TV channel, you’ll have to commit to a £9.99-a-month NOW TV Entertainment membership – which includes unlimited streaming– to watch shows on the channels.

If you’re not sure whether Alibi and/or NOW is the right choice for you, the only way to try it out is to pay the £9.99 for at least one month.

For new members, NOW offers a 7-day  free trial, but only for its TV Boost feature which allows you to watch Live TV and Stream in higher quality without ads. This costs an extra £5 a month once the free trial ends.

Bottom Line

Is Alibi on Freeview? The popular TV channel is yet to make it to the list of channels available on Freeview. Although Alibi TV is not on Freeview, you can watch the channel on Sky, BT, and Virgin Media. The only way to watch it for free is if you already have a NOW Entertainment Membership, which costs £9.99 a month.
