A Dropbox link is a web link that grants access to your files in your Dropbox account to other people. Anyone can access a file on your account with a Dropbox link, regardless of whether they have a Dropbox account. So, even if you want to email loads of pictures of your last party, you can easily do it with a Dropbox link.

By default, anyone who has the link can access the file or folder and download it. You can change link permissions in Settings. For example, you can disable downloads, set an expiration date, or set a password for specific files and folders. You can also choose to share it with certain users only.

If you share a link to a folder, the recipient of the link will be taken to a page where they can select the files they want to download, provided that the user of the Dropbox account has granted it.
