How to Block Emails on Gmail on Desktop

If you’re getting unwanted emails, you can easily block someone on Gmail. The process of blocking an email address on Gmail is easy and takes no more than two minutes.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

  • Step 1: Log onto your Gmail account .
  • Step 2: Open a message from the sender you want to block.
  • Step 3 Click on the three vertical dots in the top right corner.
  • Step 4: Select Block [sender].
  • Step 5: Confirm that you want to block that sender in the pop-up window.
Note: If you accidentally blocked someone, you can unblock them by following the same steps.

How to Block Emails on Gmail on the Phone

The process of blocking an email sender on your phone is similar.

  • Step 1: Open the app on your phone.

Gmail sends unsubscribe recommendations to users who have a lot of unopened messages from a certain sender. If you want to stop receiving Unsubscribe recommendations, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Click on the three horizontal lines on the upper left side.
  • Step 2: Go to Settings.
  • Step 3: Find and click on the name of the account you want to alter.
  • Step 4: Click on “Inbox Tips.”
  • Step 5: Turn off the switch that’s next to “Unsubscribe Tips.”
