What Are the Next Sale Dates in the UK? (Tips for 2023)

Finding good bargains at a NEXT sale is becoming more challenging every year.

If you want to get ahead of the curve, here are the NEXT sale dates in the UK for 2023 and some tips for getting a VIP slot and early access.

The Four Biggest Sales

NEXT holds four sales in a year, one for every season, plus a Black Friday event. 

How do they work?

Well, if you get a VIP ticket, you get to browse the stores before the main sales and buy clothes, footwear, and other items at discounted prices. The main sale event usually takes place a couple of days after the VIP event. 

NEXT also has online sales that happen around the same time as the store sales.

How To Get NEXT Sale VIP Slots

The best way to increase your chances of getting a VIP slot is to visit NEXT’s official website a couple of days before the sale and apply for a spot as soon as they become available. 

To  book a NEXT VIP slot, customers must meet the following criteria:

• Have a Nextpay account and a NEXT credit card.
• Have at least £250 in your NEXT credit account.
• Have placed and kept a NEXT order in 2023.
• Have an email address that’s signed up for sales emails about their promotions.
• Have returned less than two-thirds of the products you purchased.

The retailer doesn’t allow customers to get multiple Next VIP sale slots from one account. You can only purchase one slot per application. Also, spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

When Are the NEXT Clearance Sales?

Throughout the year, NEXT has a clearance area that includes last-minute sales and returned goods as well as some one-time reductions. It’s worth keeping an eye on this part of the website since there are several great deals to be had.

When does the next clearance section update?

The Clearance page on NEXT is updated every morning, except on Sundays, at around 4 – 5 a.m.

Plan Ahead

Find and visit the nearest NEXT store a day or two before the date of the sale. Use this time to memorise or write down where they keep the items you’d like to buy. If you’re aiming for a VIP slot, log into your account 3 or 4 days prior to reserve a spot. 

Getting to the Store Early

The best items, including branded clothing, sell out rapidly. That’s why it’s important to get to the store as early as possible. If you miss your window or are unable to get there in time, you can visit the store an hour before closing time since that’s when the majority of shoppers will have returned their unwanted purchases.

Don’t Miss a NEXT VIP Slot Invite

Double check if your email address and phone number are valid in case NEXT sends you a VIP slot invitation and closely monitor your inbox 3 to 4 days prior to the sale to make sure you don’t miss it. 

Target Smaller NEXT Stores

The bigger the NEXT store, the more shoppers it has. This means longer queues and fewer chances to get to the good items. Smaller stores usually have fewer customers, and you’ll be more likely to get dibs on NEXT’s extensive inventory.

Adding Items as Favourites

Online shoppers who don’t want to wait in long queues can log into their account a couple of days before the sale and add items to their shopping cart or mark them as “Favourites.” This way, you won’t have to lose time looking for your favourite items when the sale opens.

Set your alarm

If you’re shopping from the comfort of your own home, make sure to wake up at least an hour before the same so that you have enough time to get your shopping list and log onto the website.

Is There a Restriction on the Items You Can Buy In Next Sale?

No, there are no restrictions on the number of items you can buy in the NEXT Sale. You can buy anything that is available in-store and online. However, some of these things may be clearance items which means they are only available while supplies last.

There are some items that are not included in the sale, as stated by NEXT. These items include:

• Flowers and garden plants
• Gift cards and gift experiences
• Personalised items or items made to your order
• Photos, wall stickers, domestic appliances
• Hammonds bedrooms
• Beaverbrooks, Laura Ashley, and childsplayclothing.co.uk products

The ‘Save Bag‘ and ‘Save for Later‘ features are also disabled during a NEXT Sale event in order to maintain fairness for the consumers.

Payment methods such as PayPal, Gift Cards, and e-Gift Cards cannot be used on NEXT Sale items as well.
