Parents outraged and demand Alexa be renamed

Because of Amazon’s Alexa, many parents are now saying that their daughters named Alexa are being bullied. Some parents even decided to change their daughters’ name as they could not take the Alexa jokes anymore.
About 5 million UK citizens use a virtual assistant daily, and because of that, the parents are calling on Amazon to change their virtual assistant name to a non-human name.
The American company that holds 30% of the UK’s e-commerce market released a statement saying that they are “saddened” by these accounts and that there are alternative wake words available.
In recent years the name Alexa has become very common as more and more households use smart speakers like Amazon Echo and Echo Dot, that react on commands that begin with Alexa.
However, people named Alexa are receiving repeated jokes, as people keep shouting their names and issuing commands. One parent said that their daughter Alexa was on the receiving end of jokes from adults and even teachers; because of these jokes, she stopped introducing herself to other people.
