Metallica jumps into a collaboration with Masterclass for a 15-video course including instructions on how to be part of a rock band.

After a 40-year career filled with 10 globally successful studio albums and numerous live concerts, the band decided to transfer all knowledge and experience to their most loyal fans in an effort to inspire them and encourage the creation of novel bands.

The course will be offering 15 videos in a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes and will include the advice of James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Rob Trujillo and Lars Ulrich. The band members will be offering their guidance on regular production-related activities, such as writing music and lyrics, but also a deeper insight into the band’s longevity, such as constructive criticism and ego management.

What is more, the course will also delve a bit deeper into the band’s creative process, by deconstructing some of their most popular songs, such as Master of Puppets and Enter Sandman.

A Masterclass subscription will be needed to be able to access the course, which costs £14.16/month and provides access to other courses by St Vincent, Tom Morello and other musicians, but also many other inspiring courses such as Margaret Atwood Teaches Creative Writing and Annie Leibovitz Teaches Photography.
