The online gambling operator Kindred Group reported that in the second quarter of 2021’s financial year, 4.3% of its total revenue came from harmful gambling. In comparison, the revenue derived from harmful gambling in the first quarter was 3.9%. However, the operator did not note that it achieved a 76.9% improvement effect after interventions in the second quarter of 2021.
As part of its “Journey towards zero”, Kindred announced in February that it would start publishing the share of revenue derived from harmful gambling.
These figures will be published every quarter, and by the end of 2023, the gambling operator has set a target of reaching 0% revenue from harmful gambling.
Henrik Tjärnström, the chief executive of Kindred, said that they continue to lead a constructive dialogue across the industry so they can achieve a more sustainable gambling market. He later added that although their revenue from harmful gambling increased this quarter, they are still focused on their “Journey to zero”.
I always had an appetite for learning new things and random facts about almost everything, which is why when I got offered the job to work as a content writer at Don't Disappoint Me I took it without hesitation. Writing on a daily basis took my love for words and research to a whole new level, and made me realize that this is a career I would love to pursue. Although I spend most of my time researching my next piece, you can also find me on the football court, in the gym, or at home with a book in my hand.
