Boris Johnson is allegedly committed to avoiding another lockdown as he is getting ready to display his strategy for handling COVID 19 over the winter and autumn season. The prime minister will give a press conference this Tuesday to address the vaccines as the main solution for Great Britain in the following seasons. Since more than 30 million Brits have received vaccines (81% Brits over 16 years old are fully vaccinated and 90% are vaccinated with the first dose), Prime Minister Johnson points out that this will be the only way to get out of this pandemic.
Although the winter and autumn months can be unpredictable, the Prime Minister is determined to avoid another lockdown.
The decision whether teens from the ages of 12 to 15 should get vaccinated or not, rests in the hands of the UK’s chief medical officers since the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation believes the benefits of this would be insignificant and minimal.
Approval for the booster jab programme is also expected from the Prime Minister, even though it remains unclear who will receive a third dose of the vaccine.
